The South Padre Island Dolphin Research and Nature Center is a not-for-profit organization working to educate the public regarding the bottlenose dolphins native to the Gulf of Mexico and South Padre Island in addition to promoting public support for the wildlife of our area.!

Dr. Laszlo is a nature photographer and research scientist. His photographs were published in different magazines, won several prizes in National and International photo competitions and were presented in several art exhibitions. Ila Loetscher aka The Turtle Lady, founded this organization to help educate the public about what magnificent creatures Sea Turtles are and also do a part in protecting them from a constant battle at the edge of extinction.

The Coastal Studies Lab is a branch of the University of Texas Pan-American and offers a number of attractions for the public to view. It has large displays of shell collections from the area, a vast collection of preserved marine life as well as multiple aquariums with indigenous creatures and features an educational show on the ecosystem and marine diversity on the Padre Island Nation Seashore. The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, founded in 1980, is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization dedicated to the understanding and conservation of marine mammals. They are responsible for any sick or injured marine mammels along the Texas coast.
